6 The Gospel is Really True

Last time I talked about perfectionism which is living in denial, at least partially, of the fact that we sin.  We inherit this propensity to sin from Adam and Eve (Romans 5:12).  We sin, therefore, we are dead.  God is holy, pure and clean.  He cannot allow anything impure into His presence.  Yet, He still loves us.  He makes a way for us to come into His presence by Jesus’ redeeming blood which makes us holy, pure and clean.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life… But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners Christ died for us…In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace John 3:16,  Romans 5:8, Ephesians 1:7

Imagine actually believing that the Gospel is true.  Imagine not worrying about feeling guilty, not wondering if God really loves you or not even having to make any excuses.  Every time we sin, we simply asked for God’s forgiveness, and He forgives us.  Imagine living as if God has taken care of our every need.  We did not have to do anything to merit His blessings.  Imagine not worrying about what God thinks of you because you are living in His love.

We who believe in Jesus are rich.  We have our needs met for eternity!  The God of the universe has promised us His favor and blessing for time without end.  You have a retirement account that will never end!

God does not promise to instantly remove all our problems, but He does promise to be with us in the journey.  The Gospel really is true!

Trusting in His goodness for us who believe,
